Carmel Run(317)-September 3, 2020

Join us on September 3, 2020, as we team up with Run(317)  for the next leg of the race series!  A portion of the RUN(317) race proceeds will benefit Kids’ Voice of Indiana.

The Run(317) events planners have put the following restrictions in place for the race to be in compliance with COVID-19 requirements.

  • All Volunteers will wear masks and gloves at all times. Run(317) will provide the PPE equipment for volunteers who need them.
  • Runners must wear mask except during the race.
  • Hand sanitizer and hand washing stations will be available at various locations.
  • Social distancing of 6 ft will be enforced.
  • Volunteers will not have physical contact with runners while working at their stations.
    • Water bottles will be set out on tables for runners to pick up instead of cups
    • Water and snacks will be put out on tables at end of the race for runners to pick up. Volunteers will not be handing out medals, snacks, or collecting chips
  • Runners will be put into corrals of about 39-52 people at the start of the race. Each corral will have its own start time.
  • There will be no food or beverage vendors on site.

Kids’ Voice needs at least 45 volunteers to help at the various support stations before, during, and after the race! You must sign up on the race registration site and not through Kids’ Voice.


We need volunteers for:

Packet Pick up/Runner Services from 5:30  to 9 p.m.   2 Volunteers – FULL

Volunteers are needed to pass out bib numbers, premium items, and goodie bags to those participants who have sent in their entry form by mail or through on-line registration.Volunteers should be able to handle a flurry of activity all at once, monitor the course, check IDs and wristbands, and serve beer to participants once the race is over.Once packet pick up is finished, volunteers will go over to the Finish Line to assist the runners as they come back in.This includes handing out water/snacks, retrieving time chips, and handing out medals.

Water Station 5:45 to 8:15 p.m.  7 Volunteers

Volunteers will be asked to set up table with bottled water for runners to pick up as they pass by. No contact with runners. Volunteers need to make sure that water remains plentiful for all participants as well as clean the area after the runners/walkers have passed. Volunteers should dress comfortably and for the weather.

Runners Services 6:30-8:45 p.m.  6 Volunteers. FULL

• Volunteers will set up tables with bottled water and  bags with medal and snack.  No contact with runners

• Volunteers are needed to cheer on participants as they finish the race.

• Volunteers will organize refreshments (bottle water and pretzels.) and assist with refreshmentdistribution at the conclusion of the event. Crowd control and refreshment distribution will be organized so that the “back of the pack” runners / walkers are able to enjoy the refreshments at the finish.

This duty also includes clean up, breakdown of boxes, and the collection of the bags.

Course Marshalls 6  to 8:15 p.m. 20 Volunteers

Volunteers are placed along the run/walk routes to direct and encourage runners.Volunteers will be driven onto the course and picked up once the event is over. The Course Marshall Captain will describe your exact duties depending on your designated course location. A bright orange vest or flag will be issued to each volunteer.Volunteers should dress comfortably and for the weather.Must be adults.If you finish your portion of the race early, then please head over to the Finish Line and help with runners services.This includes handing out water/snacks, retrieving time chips, and handing out medals.Or you can help take tickets at the beer stations.

Startline Volunteers  5:30-7:45 p.m.  10 Volunteers

Help guide runners into their correct “corrral” to start the race.
